Wow, talk about bored. It's 10:30 Saturday morning and I've been in class (yes I said class) for 2 and a half hours! I have this MCAT prep course every Saturday from 8 to 12...barf. Today, and the reason that I'm so bored is because today is Organic Chemistry II review. If you thought going to O Chem class during the week was boring, try sittin through it on a Saturday....when you could be watching college basketball and preping to kick Dallon's and Dad's trash in the March Madness and Mayhem! Anyway, I'm posting this simply as a means to keep me awake and not snoring. The picture explains it all...I feel your pain buddy!

sad day

Okay, you're probably wondering why I have a picture of a sad little monkey on my blog....and that would be because this is how I feel on the inside....a sad little chimpanzee (I think that's how you spell it). And do you know why I'm a sad little monkey? Because no one is commenting on my posts!!!! Remember the rules?...you read it, you comment......pretty please?....with a cherry on top? Okay, so mostly I just want to know that actual people I might know read this and not just some random guy in arctic siberia who thinks I'm the epitomy of America (he wouldn't be that far off though hey?), cause if not than this sad little chimp is gonna find a new home....yeah, take that, what now?!
Seriously though, how can you resist a sad chimp like that?

Basketball at the HYPR

So sometimes I get a little stressed and my brains shuts down, but that's normal right? Right (at least that's what I tell myself). When this happens I usually just make my way down to the Field House here at the University of Utah and join in a few pickup-games of 4-on-4 basketball with some random guys and it helps me cool down and I can study again. Yesterday however, I was in for a special treat. It was raining so I didn't want to walk all the way down to the Field House so I had to satisfy myself with the HYPR just down the road. I've never played there mind you, so this was an adventure from the begining. After searching for at least 25 minutes to find a court that wasn't taken by senior citizen arobics, a really scary karate guy, and the university cheerleading squad (how you doin'?), I finally found a free court that was just being cleared out by volleyball players (have you seen the size of those guys?! They're ginormous!!"). As the goliaths walked out I (a goliath inside....and that's what counts right?...right.) walked in to shoot around a bit. But then to my surprise company showed up....short company. I was pretty sure that I'd found the missing Chinese basketball team. There were about 20 in all and I"m pretty sure that maybe two of them, maybe two, were taller than me! Talk about a self-esteem booster! But then came the road-block....I wanted to play with them...they wanted me to play....but I don't speak Mandarine Chinese....and aparently they don't speak any shape or form of audible english (which doesn't say they didn't try to grunt a few syllables out). Yeah, talk about akward. Then out of no where this older guy (and by "older" I mean in his late 60's) comes in and acts like he knows exactly what they're saying and forms up teams and they get started! Okay, what the heck just happened?! I've been trying to understand what they're saying for the last half hour and this guys waltzes in here and goes General Patton on me and takes charge! All I got out of them was that they had a ball and they were from China....that's it. I tried to get them to form teams and start playing and they looked at me like I was a retard and basically shunned me to the far corner to play by myself (oh no! not kindergarten all over again!). However, after seeing them play for a while I was kinda glad I didn't speak Mandarine because I'm pretty sure that they sent a handfull of guys to the hospital because they might have been under the impression they were playing hockey...and look out Wayne Gretzky, cause they've got a mean hip-check. So after that little adventure I was ready to go back and study. Needless to say the first physics problem I attempt begins, "The US basketball team goes to China to play an exhibition game...." too funny. (ps, I flippin rocked that problem! I'm all over air pressures!)

Conflict of Interest

Okay, it's Bowl Season people!! I've been living in heaven for the last week and a half. First Christmas and then started the College Football Bowl Season!! This is a time of utter joy and fulfillment. I get to sit and watch college football all day if I feel like it....well, except if my Dad yells at me from the top of the stairs to do something outside, then I go arunning. Anyway, different story for a different blog. Back to the subject at hand. Today is the Sugar Bowl. Usually one of the most talked-up bowl games of the season. This year though, I seem to be torn once again. Do I cheer for Utah or Alabama. I attend the University of Utah, but I like big East coast schools (except Florida, deffinately don't like Florida). Also there's the conflict that they both wear Red! All my life I've cheered for teams that sport the Blue hue...Tyler's little league KC Royals, my little league Rockies, the Sky View Bobcats in High School, the occasional USU Aggies, and all through the years the true Blue BYU Cougars (a moment of silence for the Vegas Bowl...cry cry.). So when it comes to cheering for a team that wears red I just can't do it. The rival Red Sox in little league, the Logan Grizzlies in High School, and the most recent Utah Utes....I just can't get myself to cheer for someone wearing red, call me crazy, but I just can't do it. It feels like drinking Pepto Bismal, it might help in the very very very long run, but it's nothing I'd do willingly. So today is a day of reconning, a day to decide, do I really want to cheer for anyone wearing red? And then I realize, I won't have to, Utah is most likely going to be blown out anyway so Alabama doesn't need my cheers...problem solved.
